The Remedi team in Nottinghamshire is looking for a Restorative Practitioner to work within the Youth Justice Services in Nottinghamshire county. Their new team member will work as part a team of practitioners who work with young people aged 10-18 who are working with the Youth Justice Service. Practitioners contact all victims of youth crime in the County and offer them involvement in restorative justice.

They are ideally looking for an experienced Restorative Justice lead practitioner, with a track record of work in restorative practices. In addition, they are looking for experience of implementing multi-agency partnerships across the criminal justice sector, and of working with volunteers and the voluntary sector. Training will be provided as needed.
You will take responsibility as referral order panel coordinator for facilitating referral order panels and coordinating volunteer panel members in St Helens Youth Justice service. communication between victims and offenders referred by St Helens Youth Justice Service (YJS). Referral order panels take place when a young person has been sentenced in court to a referral order, this is a community sentence where youth justice officers complete interventions with the young person to address their offending behaviour.
You will take responsibility as restorative justice practitioner, for facilitating communication between victims and offenders referred by St Helens Youth Justice Service (YJS). This will be in the form of direct and indirect restorative justice processes. The role will include visits to victims and offenders to ascertain their views and the level of involvement they wish to have with the restorative justice process and assessing risk and suitability on each induvial case. Flexibility is essential for this role, as you will be required to work evenings and some weekends.

They are looking for people who are motivated and want to make a positive difference in peoples lives. Your primary responsibility will be to facilitate communication between victims and offenders of crime. The job is flexible in that we expect you to work around the availability of the service users.
