Belong: Making Justice Happen is looking for a skilled Development Officer to join us and play their part in helping to make our vision of a society where there is hope, rehabilitation and recovery for victims and perpetrators of crime, a reality.

The successful candidate will have excellent communication and fundraising skills, with experience of working in the criminal justice system, preferably with experience of fundraising.

Restorative Practitioner

Remedi are recruiting a Restorative Practitioner to deliver Restorative Justice across South Yorkshire and engage offenders on orders with the Community Rehabilitation Company (CRC). The role will be 35 hours per week and will cover the South Yorkshire area with an expectation to travel as required.

Evidencing your CPD

Our current CPD requirements require you to demonstrate that in the last 12 months you have completed a minimum of: 

Foundation level practitioners: 6 hours

Intermediate level practitioners: 12 hours

Advanced level practitioners: 16 hours

50% of your CPD must be RJC Approved CPD. This could include practitioner skill sharing forums, CPD Symposiums, other Approved RJC CPD Events and any RJC reading, e.g. bulletins or 'Resolution'

Please note that all sections marked with an asterisk (*) are mandatory and will need to be completed in order to submit the form.

To remain as a Registered Practitioner you must be facilitating restorative processes. By selecting 'Yes' you are confirming that this is the case.
Intermediate and Foundation Practitioners only:

Your assessor will be in touch to discuss with you the requirements for the new level.

There is an additional cost of £156 for re-assessment.

Restorative Practitioner - Reparation

The Remedi team in Stockport are looking for a Restorative Practitioner to organise and supervise reparation hours and run restorative action projects with young people in the Youth Offending Service. Their new team member will spend most of their time in the community with young people aged 10-18 fulfilling the reparative element of their order. They are looking for someone who can work creatively to engage young people and support them to come up with project ideas to benefit their community as well as work with placements in their local community.

Current Practitioners

Service providers are required to register 60% of their practitioners (paid and unpaid) at a level commensurate with an individual's level of training, experience and responsibility. 

An explanation of these levels can be found HERE

You should include all paid staff who have been trained to a minimum of Foundation level and are actively carrying out duties commensurate with this training but can exclude those practitioners who possess prior experience but are currently within their employment probationary period You should not include staff who only undertake administrative duties.
You should include all unpaid staff who have volunteered for your organisation for longer than 12 months and have actively delivered restorative processes during this time. You should not include staff who only undertake administrative duties.

Please note that although your organisation may be paying for the Registered Practitioner award, the award belongs to the individual themselves and the RJC will communicate directly with the Practitioner during the process unless there is a risk to your Service Provider award being renewed. Prison Based Violence Reduction Trainer - HMPYOI Brinsford

Criminal justice charity Belong provides hope, rehabilitation and recovery for victims and perpetrators of crime. They are seeking a full-time prison-based Violence Reduction Trainer to lead and develop an effective Violence Reduction peer mentor programme at HMPYOI Brinsford. The successful candidate will recruit, train and support Violence Reduction Coaches at HMPYOI Brinsford. Violence Reduction Coaches will be young adult prisoners aged 18 – 30 who are on remand or serving sentences at HMPYOI Brinsford.
