Support Restorative Justice: Make a Difference Today!

As we approach the close of 2024, it’s a fitting moment to reflect on the incredible strides we’ve made at the Restorative Justice Council (RJC) and to express our heartfelt gratitude for the unwavering support we have received from our members and supporters. It is their commitment that has been pivotal in our mission to raise awareness about restorative justice and transform it from an idea into a widely recognised practice that fosters community healing, conflict resolution, and positive change.

Celebrating Our Achievements Together

Throughout this year, the RJC and the broader restorative justice community have been incredibly active, engaging in various projects aimed at enhancing our collective understanding and implementation of restorative practices. Here are some of our proudest achievements:

Annual Restorative Justice Conferences

Our Annual Restorative Justice Conferences have brought together over 250 participants in Belfast, Wales, and online. These events fostered insightful discussions and transformative workshops led by esteemed experts in the field, igniting conversations that push the restorative justice movement forward.

Publication of New Resources

In our pursuit to equip practitioners and advocates with the necessary tools, we’ve published a range of essential resources, including:

These materials are available on our website and aim to empower individuals and organisations to adopt restorative practices more effectively.

Engaging with Policy Makers

Our advocacy efforts through the All-Party Parliamentary Group for Restorative Justice have been instrumental in promoting national policy changes that recognise and support restorative justice initiatives. As the chair of the advisory board, I’m proud to have welcomed new members who are eager to champion this essential work.

Continuous Professional Development

Under the diligent support of our Standards Officer, Aisa, we’ve organised numerous Continuing Professional Development (CPD) symposiums and Practitioner Skills Sharing forums. These sessions have significantly increased attendance and equipped practitioners with critical skills to improve their restorative justice practices.

Expanding Our Networks

Our horizons are broadening as we’ve established new connections across the UK, USA, New Zealand, and Europe. These collaborations are instrumental in sharing best practices and insights, allowing us to enhance our own methodologies and serve our members better.

A Call for Support

However, none of this phenomenal progress would have been possible without the continued support from individuals like you. At the RJC, we don’t receive government funding or grants; instead, we rely on the generous contributions from our members, event participants, and supporters.

As we strive to continue this vital work into 2025, I humbly request that you consider making a donation to support the RJC. Your contributions will directly fund our initiatives and help us to:

  • Advocate for further policy changes by continuing our engagement with governmental bodies
  • Conduct necessary research to inform our policies and standards, enhancing the evidence base for our advocacy
  • Provide financial assistance to individuals who would benefit from RJC services but lack the means to access them

Every donation, regardless of its size, brings us closer to achieving our mission of promoting restorative practices for the betterment of our communities. You can make a secure online donation by visiting our website HERE

If you’ve already donated, I offer my deepest thanks for your trust and belief in our mission. Together, we can continue to make a profound impact in the lives of many, fostering healthier relationships and enabling transformative change across society.

Let’s continue this journey together. Your support matters!

Thank you for being an integral part of our restorative justice community.
