The RJC is pleased to announce the launch of two new products to support the delivery of quality practice across the restorative justice field - a Practitioner Competency Framework and the RJC’s Training Approval Scheme.

The Practitioner Competency Framework provides an overview of the behaviours and skills required of those working in the restorative practice field. It is intended to raise standards and support practitioners in their professional development.

Find out more about the Practitioner Competency Framework here.

The Training Approval Scheme will enable the providers of facilitation training to demonstrate that their courses meet the RJC’s standards. This will help practitioners, service managers and commissioners easily identify quality training.

Jon Collins, CEO of the RJC, said:

“The RJC aims to ensure quality in the delivery of restorative practice and both of these new products will help us to achieve this aim. The Practitioner Competency Framework is intended to support practitioners to develop and improve their practice, while the Training Approval Scheme will enable training providers to demonstrate the quality of their courses.

“We are grateful to all those who contributed to the development of both the Training Approval Scheme and the Competency Framework. All of our work is informed by the experiences and knowledge of restorative practitioners and trainers and we look forward to continuing to work with our members as these new products develop.”
