Job opportunity: Essex Restorative and Mediation Service Manager (Kelvedon Park, Essex)

The Police, Fire and Crime Commissioner for Essex is seeking an exceptional candidate with good leadership, organisational and communication skills to provide maternity cover for the Essex Restorative and Mediation service manager.

The post holder will be responsible for the smooth running of the service, managing staff and being the public face of the service.

They are seeking a candidate that is able to provide to provide strategic management and leadership, and support the continued development and expansion of the Essex Restorative & Mediation Service. They must maintain positive relationships with local partners, including referring agencies, and supervise and manage staff and volunteers within the service.  They will be able to confidently and competently deliver in a fast-paced, dynamic environment. The successful candidate will be a strong communicator; able to converse effectively with colleagues, including senior leaders in the PFCC, Police, and external agencies. 

The successful candidate may come from a range of different backgrounds but will have experience of working in a Restorative Justice environment and may be experienced in working in community safety, policing or criminal justice roles. They will also be an experienced manager, able to deliver projects and manage staff effectively. 

Please evidence the following areas on your application;

  • Proven ability to confidently communicate with individuals within your team, the wider office and external partners and stakeholders, articulating the benefits of restorative approaches.
  • Effective organisational skills, evidencing time management and the ability to manage competing priorities.
  • Strong leadership and management skills, supporting your team, providing constructive feedback and collectively holding the service to account.
  • The successful candidate will be responsible for, and an advocate of, the whole service, so please provide evidence of self-motivation and independence to drive the service forward.
