Victim Support NI achieve Registered Service Provider status

We are pleased to announce that Victim Support NI has been awarded Registered Service Provider status. They become the first organisation in Northern Ireland to achieve this status. Peter Crory, Head of Service, said “We were very proud to receive our award and join a prestigious group of professionals working to the highest standards in the field of restorative justice.”

Having first been awarded our Registered Restorative Organisation status in August 2021, they have continued to develop their restorative justice programme and now offer restorative justice processes to those accessing their services. As an independent charity supporting people affected by crime, Victim Support NI offer a free and confidential service, whether or not a crime has been reported and regardless of how long ago the event took place.

Through the RJC’s registration process, Victim Support NI have been able to demonstrate that they have robust processes in place to ensure that those accessing restorative justice receive a high-quality and effective service. When asked how the Registration process had supported the service, Peter said “It helped us to work through the whole client journey again to ensure that we had templates and records in place for each stage providing a robust system of guidance and reporting for our staff.”

Jim Simon, the RJC’s chief executive said:

“I am delighted that Victim Support NI have been awarded Registered Service Provider status. It is a well-deserved recognition that staff at all levels are facilitating high quality restorative practice. Those accessing restorative justice through Victim Support NI can be confident in the quality of support they will receive throughout their restorative journey.”

Peter Crory, Head of Service, Victim Support Northern Ireland said:

“Victim Support NI is delighted to receive Registered Service Provider status for our Just Talk restorative justice programme. The quality stamp of the Restorative Justice Council on our work further reinforces the highest standards of care and support for those who journey with us in this way.”
