University of Gloucestershire launches PgCert Advanced Restorative Practitioner course
The University of Gloucestershire have this week been awarded Registered Training Provider status along with course approval for their newly launched a Post Graduate Advanced Restorative Practitioner course. Having achieved Registered Training Provider status, the university has commitment to delivering high quality restorative practice training to nationally agreed standards.
The university has worked closely with the RJC to create a course, designed for people already working as restorative practitioners, which ensures the development of skills, knowledge and expertise required within a senior restorative practitioner role. As this is an RJC Approved Course, those successfully completing the course will be able to apply for Advanced Registered Practitioner status while gaining a valuable academic qualification.
The course will be delivered entirely online, using the university’s state-of-the-art online platform. Students will study two modules – each supported by researchers and practitioners from across the field. Through a mix of collaborative discussion, lectures, seminars and contributions from experts from across the world, students will reflect on and develop their work as an advanced restorative practitioner.
“I am delighted that the University of Gloucestershire has achieved Registered Training Provider status. We have worked closely with course leaders to ensure that their Post Graduate Advanced Restorative Practitioner course is fully aligned with our Advanced Registered Practitioner Framework. The course will enable learners to develop a systematic awareness of key theoretical perspectives related to restorative justice and restorative practice, models of crime, punishment, and retribution, the history and development of Restorative approaches and the development of practice within restorative organisations. Students can be confident that undertaking this course will provide them with the skills and knowledge required for Advanced Practitioner Registration.”
"At the University of Gloucestershire, we are really excited about our new Postgraduate Certificate Advanced Restorative Practitioner. As a course delivered entirely online, it will offer restorative practitioners the opportunity to achieve both the RJC Advanced Practitioner status as well a Postgraduate qualification. We have worked hard with RJC to develop a really interesting course that reflects the key criteria for Advanced Recognition status and offers learners the chance to hear from other practitioners, academics, and experts in the field as they reflect on their own practice."
Applications for the first course (September 2021) are now being accepted. Full course details, course fees and online application can be found on the COURSE WEBSITE.
