“It’s fantastic to see Restorative Solutions attain this recognition for the service they provide to our communities here in West Yorkshire, and a big congratulations to the whole team including the OPCC Commissioning team who work with them very closely.

“There is clear evidence to indicate that the restorative justice approach has made a genuine difference to people’s lives over the years, which is why I commissioned the service in 2018, and have extended it for a further year taking us up to 2022.

“It helps to put victims at the heart of the criminal justice process, understanding some of the very human aspects involved. It can also help victims feel like they have gained some form of closure and equally assist in putting offenders on a more positive path that deters future criminal behaviour in their community and fosters a real understanding of the harm they caused.”
