Surrey Youth Support Service achieves the RSQM
The RJC is pleased to announce that Surrey Youth Support Service (Surrey YSS) has achieved the Restorative Service Quality Mark (RSQM), demonstrating that they are providing the public with a safe, high quality restorative service. Surrey YSS joins 20 other organisations working in criminal justice, care and education that have achieved the RSQM.
Hannah Davies, the team’s restorative practice co-ordinator, said: “Since its inception in 2012, Surrey YSS has had restorative justice at the heart of its work with service users, partners and among staff. We feel we have made great strides in this sense, but were keen to invite the RJC to identify areas of quality and, equally importantly, areas for improvement.
“It is important that anyone who has contact with us knows they can expect a safe, high quality restorative service, and the RSQM demonstrates this.
“Achieving the RSQM felt like a validation of all we have achieved so far and gave us a renewed impetus to further develop our restorative work. We are looking forward to continuing to work with the RJC toward this goal and for Surrey YSS to be held up as a consistently high quality restorative justice provider.”
