RJC staff, members and supporters celebrate quality at annual conference
At the AGM and annual conference, which took place on 18 November 2015 in Canary Wharf, the RJC and its members and supporters made a point of acknowledging the high quality restorative work of individuals and organisations in the past year.
Awards were given out to 24 practitioners who received accreditation, 10 organisations which were awarded the Restorative Service Quality Mark (RSQM) and 13 training courses approved through the RJC’s Training Approval Scheme. Ann Stuart and Emma Riggs, two case study ambassadors who have helped promote the positive impact of restorative justice by sharing their stories, presented awardees with trophies and certificates.
The organisations awarded the RSQM were:
- Bradford Restorative Justice Hub
- Devon Youth Offending Restorative Justice Service
- Gateshead Youth Offending Team Restorative Justice Service
- Greater Manchester Police, Tameside Division
- Leicestershire Youth Offending Service’s Restorative Work
- Lincolnshire Secure Unit
- Police & Crime Commissioner for Cheshire Restorative Justice and Mediation Service
- Salford Youth Offending Service Restorative Justice Service
- Surrey Youth Support Service
- The Restorative Justice Team, Essex Youth Offending Service
The Training Approval Scheme recognises quality facilitation training courses in restorative practice. The RJC is delighted to announce that, to date, thirteen training courses have been approved through the pilot of the Training Approval Scheme.
The RJC has approved the following training courses for facilitators:
- A Skills Based Training Programme in Restorative Approaches, delivered by Salus.
- Facilitating Restorative Conferences, delivered by the International Institute for Restorative Practices (IIRP) Europe.
- Facilitators Training Course, delivered by Trrrio Training and Consultancy Ltd.
- Peacemakers - Champion Group Training, delivered by Peacemakers.
- Practitioner Training in Restorative Approaches, delivered by Restorative Solutions CIC.
- Restorative Approaches Facilitator Training, delivered by Royal Borough of Greenwich.
- Restorative Approaches for Youth Settings, delivered by Transforming Conflict.
- Restorative Deal Training, delivered by Wigan Council Restorative Solutions Team.
- Restorative Justice – 3 day Facilitators Course, delivered by Dorset Police, Safe Schools and Communities Team.
- Restorative Justice Conference Facilitator Training, delivered by Wakefield Youth Offending Team.
- Restorative Justice Facilitation Skills, delivered by CALM (Mediation Service).
- Restorative Justice Facilitator Training Course, delivered by Restorative Now.
- Restorative Practices Facilitation Training, delivered by RJ Working CIC.
