Restorative Standards Officer

The Restorative Justice Council is the independent membership body for the field of restorative justice. We provide a national voice for advocating the widespread use of all forms of restorative practice and promote standards that will lead to safe, high-quality processes for participants.
At an exciting time in the RJC’s development, we are seeking to appoint a Restorative Standards Officer to support us deliver our ambitious strategic plan.
Restorative Standards Officer
You will work closely with our Chief Executive Officer to ensure that the RJC’s standards and practice guidance for the restorative practice field are fit for purpose. You will play a leading role in co-ordinating and facilitating standards focused events for the RJC’s stakeholders and members as well as representing the RJC at a range of forums, including in meetings, at conferences and at other events. The Restorative Standards Officer will also be responsible for co-ordinating our practice registration process including conducting assessments against the RJC’s Practice Registration Frameworks.
This role requires an individual with a minimum of 3 years' experience working within the restorative practice field, preferably with an informed understanding of standards, accreditation and quality assurance practice and processes.
- Co-ordinate the day-to-day running of the RJC’s standards and practice registration work, including responding to enquiries
- Carry out desk-based assessments for the RJC Practice Registration Frameworks, with appropriate support and supervision
- Plan and carry out professional discussions assessments with Registration applicants
- Update the RJC’s customer relations management systems (CRM) to maintain accurate information on members and to process registration applications
- Support the process of registration renewal
Standards, Guidance and Practitioner Development
- Support the CEO to ensure the RJC’s standards and guidance for the restorative practice field are up to date
- Co-ordinate and facilitate quarterly practice forums for the RJC’s Registered and Accredited Practitioners
- Co-ordinate and facilitate events for the RJC’s stakeholders and members
- Support the CEO to co-ordinate and facilitate sector specific networks including mental health, social care, youth justice and education
Membership and Public Engagement
- Build and maintain strong relationships with the RJC’s stakeholders
- Represent the RJC publicly and promote the work of the RJC in a range of forums, including in meetings, at conferences and at other events where required
- Contribute to the preparation and distribution of member and supporter mailings and the ongoing development of the RJC’s website
About this role
Location: Home based (you must reside in England or Wales)
Full time Salary: £30,000 - £35,000 (depending on experience)
Pension: 7% pension contribution after qualifying period
Contract Type: Permanent full time or part time
Hours: 37.5 hours per week (full time) or 18.75 hours per week (part time)
