Restorative Police Practitioner - Cheshire

The role of a Restorative Police Practitioner within Cheshire involves a significant amount of contact with perpetrators of crime and ASB, as well as with Police staff from Cheshire Constabulary.

This exciting role is an excellent opportunity for anyone with some experience working with offenders or within the criminal justice setting, who wish to increase their experience and build confidence in delivery of training and working with offenders of crime.

The role will involve numerous elements, which include delivery of training to Police staff on a regular basis, this training will focus on Restorative approaches and skills that Police can utilize within their daily roles when working with victims and offenders. It will also be to ensure an awareness of Restorative Justice so that it can offered to victims.

The other element of the role is to be located within Custodial Suites across Cheshire to deliver Restorative Awareness Sessions with perpetrators of low-level crime and ASB. You will also liaise with officers, victims and perpetrators to identify when Restorative Justice may be suitable and then refer into Remedi’s Cheshire RJ Service. Alternatively, you may also be required to refer into one of Remedi’s other services or interventions.

Anticipated start date: March 2022(when Police Vetting is cleared)
