Restorative Justice Programme Manager
This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced and enthusiastic Restorative Justice practitioner and trainer, keen to develop and enhance Restorative Justice practice nationally.
You will need experience of successfully handling a range of cases/conflicts, including complex and sensitive ones, and facilitating restorative circles. You will be experienced in and sensitive to the challenges of delivering Restorative Justice equitably and inclusively. You will have delivered training to groups of 12 or more, and have the ability to communicate the transformative power of Restorative Justice.
You will be excited about applying your passion, knowledge and skill to develop practice and support RJ delivery in Why me?’s projects. This includes our Interfaith project exploring the use of RJ in addressing hostility towards and between faith groups in Solihull and Glasgow and our education project introducing Restorative and Relational Practice into a Pupil Referral Unit.

About the post
1. Lead the delivery and development of Restorative Justice practice for Why me? and projects:
● Deliver training and case supervision against agreed plans for project delivery to make sure that grant agreements and Why me? standards are adhered to and targets met
● Develop and maintain partnerships with relevant agencies, local providers and individuals to promote Restorative Justice and support project work
● Support delivery of RJ through specific project work
● Monitor, evaluate and report against activities and outcomes to meet Why me? and funders’ reporting requirements
● Manage project budgets, timelines and deliverables
● Oversee Why me?’s Restorative Justice Advocacy Helpline
● Support the recruitment, training, development and engagement of volunteers
● Coordinate Why me?’s Restorative Justice Expert Group
● Put forward ideas for and Chair online forums for RJ stakeholders
2. Coordinate and deliver Why me?’s training programmes:
● Plan Why Me?’s training offer with the Why me? team
● Liaise with the Communications Manager to publicise and deliver training events
● Prepare or assist with the preparation of training and deliver when requested ● Ensure Why me?’s training is delivered according to our standards
● Ensure training materials are updated and that other trainers understand Why me?’s values, processes and success criteria
● Ensure our training is equitable and inclusive
3. Publicity and promotion:
● Work with the Communications Manager to promote all activities
● Give presentations and attend meetings to promote Restorative Justice and Why me?’s work
● Contribute ideas and content for our weekly newsletter and blogs
● Work with colleagues to produce policy and communications that reflects learning from project and practice work
5. General requirements of the post:
● Support general team administration and organisational well-being and activities
● Cooperate and communicate with Why me? staff, volunteers, ambassadors and trustees
● Understand, respect and adhere to Why me? equality and diversity policy
● Attend training to comply with Why me? standards
● Attend and contribute to meetings as required
● Work with and report to your line manager on a regular basis.
An additional day off on your birthday and 2 wellbeing days per year.
Our office building has a rooftop sauna which is free for tenants to use (off peak)
London (Brixton) and Hybrid
35 hours, five days per week and may include occasional working outside normal office hours
Salary £35,000 FTE, 5 days per week
