As a Restorative Justice Facilitator, you will facilitate communication between victims of crime and people on probation or in prison to address the harm caused by crime and find a positive way forward.
The role involves promoting awareness and understanding of restorative justice across the Probation Service and partner agencies, identifying suitable referrals, undertaking risk and suitability assessments, and preparing participants for restorative interventions. You will facilitate restorative justice interventions, provide post-intervention support and debriefing, and maintain case records in line with organisational and professional standards.
Working as part of a small, geographically dispersed team, you will need to be self-motivated, organised and confident working independently whilst maintaining effective communication with colleagues and stakeholders. The role requires strong interpersonal skills, professional judgement and the ability to manage sensitive situations.

Full training will be provided. Following completion of your initial training, you will be expected to achieve and maintain Registered Practitioner status with the Restorative Justice Council and participate in ongoing professional development and supervision.

Annual leave is 25 days on appointment and will increase to 30 days after five years’ service, plus public holidays. Leave for part-time and job share posts will be calculated on a pro-rata basis.
