Restorative Justice Co-ordinator

This role involves regular travel and due to the location, a driving license and access to a vehicle is considered an essential requirement. As a Restorative Justice Practitioner you will:
Proactively promote the service, raise awareness of services & work collaboratively with professionals to improve the access to and quality of services for victims of crime.
Play a vital role in ensuring the delivery of excellent RJ services to victims and perpetrators of crime.
Undertake risk and needs assessments to address the specific needs of the client in line with VS operating procedures. To follow relevant safeguarding policies and procedures, working with safeguarding leads and other agencies to ensure an integrated approach to address any safeguarding concerns.
About the post
To deliver and raise the profile of Restorative Justice (RJ) services across an allocated area within the VS framework of best practice principles and Restorative Justice Council Code of Practice and Quality Standards. Ensuring the provision of RJ interventions and effective assessment and facilitation of each stage of the restorative process.
You will make initial contact with service users, explaining our services and assessing consent to engage in RJ, explaining options available and ongoing case management.
• To develop, deliver, and monitor safety and support plans for those affected by crime, who consent and wish to engage with Restorative Justice. Support will include providing resources, interventions, and information to all service users. In order to:
• Support those affected by crime in understanding and asserting their rights
and entitlements under the Victims Code of Practice
• Facilitate access to additional services
• Establish healthy coping mechanisms
• Provide practical support and information
RJ Practitioners may, in some services, be responsible for elements of volunteer management. This may include the development and case management oversight of a cohort of volunteers who will contribute to the service, in line with VS policies, volunteering ethos and approach, and the Restorative Justice Council Code of Practice and Quality Standards.
