The RJC is pleased to announce the publication of the second edition of its restorative justice champions portfolio today. This provides an updated overview of the RJC’s current community of restorative justice champions who will help us highlight the importance of restorative work across England and Wales and explore opportunities for its future development.

The restorative justice champions initiative, alongside the first edition of the portfolio, was officially launched at the Queen Elizabeth II Conference Centre in Westminster in March 2015 with wide support from partner organisations, supporters and our newly recruited champions. Further champions have since joined this growing community of restorative justice advocates. Supported by the Ministry of Justice, this year the RJC is committed to supporting and developing the champions initiative even further.

Our champions include representatives from early intervention, education, health, housing, legal profession, local authorities, judiciary, neighbourhood justice, police, prison service, probation, victim services, youth justice, as well as restorative justice practitioners and victims of crime. Their profiles highlight the diverse work in the field and showcase the positive impact restorative justice can bring across a variety of sectors.

The RJC is grateful to our champions for helping raise awareness of the benefits restorative justice can bring, by promoting and encouraging the practice in their sector or region, and supporting victims and communities interested in restorative justice.
