Belong specialises in enabling positive development, rehabilitation and recovery amongst those who have been victims or perpetrators of sexual or violent offences. Our services include mentoring, art therapy and restorative justice interventions. We work with children, young people and adults in custodial and community settings. This restorative justice service will build on a model developed in other prisons, applying restorative approaches in response to violent incidents and conflicts at HMP Coldingley. It will raise awareness amongst staff and prisoners at HMP Coldingley of restorative approaches, their potential benefits and their suitability for use in a range of situations. In addition the project will inspire, train and support a team of prison staff members to become skilled, confident restorative justice facilitators.

The prison based restorative justice manager position provides an exciting opportunity for a reliable, organised, energetic restorative justice facilitator to join Belong's committed, specialist team. The successful applicant will have solid experience of working within the criminal justice sector and preferably the prison service, with a track record of securing stakeholder engagement in programs and communicating effectively with individuals from a range of backgrounds. He or she will manage this project, deliver restorative justice interventions and support prison staff to deliver restorative justice interventions as part of the project.

Enhanced prison security vetting is required for this role. Applications are particularly welcomed from candidates with current enhanced security vetting clearance. Place of work: HMP Coldingley
Hours of work: 35 hours per week, with occasional evening and weekend work required
Pay scale: 35k per annum, plus contribution to travel expenses
