Domestic Abuse Mentor - Cheshire

As a Domestic Abuse Mentor your primary role will be to provide support for children and young people (aged 13- 17) who are or have experienced domestic abuse either in the family home or within their own intimate relationships.

All of Remedi’s Domestic Abuse work operates under the title ‘CEASE’.

So what will you be expected to do in this role?:

Complete a holistic, client-centred needs assessment with the child/young person.
Work closely with them to develop an agreed support plan
Deliver all required support at a time to suit the service user and meet their needs.

You will be fully trained in our CEASE programme and how to use ‘restorative’ approaches with the people you work WITH. This will include being trained and confident in delivering:

Mentoring Services
Trauma Informed Practice
Restorative Approaches and Safeguarding

Strong partnership working is key to the success of this work so you will build positive relationships with Supporting Victims’ Unit, Housing, DWP, Health, Social Services, Solicitors, Police, Youth Offending Service, Courts, Domestic Abuse Services etc. on behalf of clients – Acting, at times, as an advocate for them and also signposting to relevant support services. Good working relationships are key to succeeding in this area of work.
