The RJC has identified key priorities for the incoming government following the 2015 general election. This document provides an overview for our members and the public.

The RJC is asking all the political parties to commit to the continued development of restorative approaches. To achieve this, their priorities should be to:

  • Put victims of crime first, by giving all victims the right to access restorative justice
  • Build safer, stronger communities through the use of restorative practice
  • Ensure quality in the delivery of restorative approaches

An ambitious government will significantly expand the use of restorative practice, including in schools, care homes and every criminal justice agency.
