Restorative Gloucestershire
Jude is currently the Restorative Practice Volunteer Manager and Practitioner, initially volunteering with Restorative Gloucestershire in 2016, gained the role as Restorative Justice Case Coordinator in 2017 progressing to Volunteer Manager in 2022. The roles has given Jude the opportunity to continue to grow and develop her Restorative Practice with ongoing practitioner training including Harmful Sexual Behaviour, Domestic Abuse and Restorative Justice also Action Learning Facilitation. Jude has facilitated face to face Restorative Justice Conferences since 2016 and has worked on a broad range of complex and sensitive cases including homicide, sexual assault, domestic abuse, serious injury by dangerous driving and hate crime. Also dealing with mediating neighbourhood anti-social behaviour, community and family conflict cases.
Prior to present role Jude brings experience of working with communities; this includes as a locally elected Borough and Parish Councillor, working with the Voluntary and Community Sector, being part of a working group in a Gloucestershire community to take over the running of their local library and youth provision. Jude has trained in Asset Based Community Development always promoting a strengths based trauma informed approach. Experience from being a Board Member for a Registered Social Landlord, Community Governor for an Ofsted outstanding Primary School and working within the Beauty Industry and as a Further Education Lecturer and assessor.
Jude feels empathetic, compassionate and passionate about enabling others to thrive, enjoy working with, mentoring and coaching other facilitators at Restorative Gloucestershire. Jude became interested in Restorative Justice and the school to custody pipeline during and after having gone through the experience of a close family member go through the criminal justice system as both a person responsible harmer (offender) of youth violence and a harmed (victim) of a knife crime.
Jude advocate's promoting and supporting the use of Restorative Practice across Gloucestershire communities, emphasis on the proactive, community and relationship building side as well as dealing with reactive Restorative Justice giving everyone a voice.
