An exciting position is available for an enthusiastic, dynamic Trainer Practitioner to join a small, friendly team based in the centre of Cardiff.

About the post

You will be an experienced trainer (or teacher), with restorative skills and experience. The role is diverse and will involve delivering Restorative Approaches training to our clients, whilst also including an element of practice work. Experience in both of these areas will be an advantage. We would particularly welcome applications from candidates with experience in the education, housing, community, and criminal justice sectors.
You will be customer-focused and person centred. Therefore, we are seeking a candidate who is confident to meet and engage with new people and diverse communities. You will work closely with all members of the team in different aspects of the role. the business as we grow.
The role includes face to face work with colleagues in our office and with clients, as well as online delivery and hybrid working. We deliver our services locally, nationally, and internationally therefore some travel will be involved, with fair TOIL systems.

Role Requirements
• Understanding restorative approaches, and always being a role model with colleagues and clients
• Previous trainer experience in one of our five core service areas with experience in delivering face to face and online sessions will be an advantage
• Previous restorative justice and restorative approaches casework experience in one of our five core service areas will be an advantage
• Excellent interpersonal skills, the ability to work independently and in a team environment
• Ability to initiate, maintain and develop effective working relationships at all levels with both internal and external stakeholders
• Excellent I.T. skills including Outlook, Word, Excel, Zoom and Microsoft Teams
• Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines whilst maintaining attention to detail.
• Knowledge and experience of safeguarding procedures
Role Responsibilities
• To deliver high-quality training sessions, both face-to-face and online, normally to groups of between 12 – 18, and occasionally to large groups of 100+
• To deliver restorative practice work including sensitive and complex cases in accordance with Restorative Justice Council guidelines
• To contribute to the development of appropriate materials and resources to further enhance our training and practice services
• To support the management team to review and implement appropriate training and practice processes
• To deliver on sector specific projects, incorporating elements of project management
• To update the case management system in a timely manner
• Attend regular supervision sessions as required
• Contribute to the effective monitoring and evaluation of training and practice activities
• To undertake any other duties, as required, appropriate to the post.
