Restorative Language
This course enables learners to reflect on the importance of using a ‘language that cares’ to see the person first. It advocates for the development of positive relationships which recognises the negative impact writing can have when we use difficult to understand and blaming / shaming language.
Course Objectives
- Learn the importance of writing in a restorative way
- Understand the national ‘language that cares’ campaign and local Torbay Pledge
- Recognise the negative impact of victim blaming / shaming language
- Begin to explore how we can write more restoratively to build positive relationships
- Develop confidence to apply restorative principles to your practice
Courses can be delivered virtually or in person.
