Educational practices, Working Restoratively with Children and Young People
This course aims to help you develop the necessary skills to begin to become a restorative practitioner in a range of settings. Much of the learning is interactive and there are lots of opportunities to practice the learning from the taught input. The sessions will be made up of a mixture of teaching and small group exercises designed to imbed the learning.
This course aims to enable you to:
Demonstrate an understanding of the contribution of philosophical, psychological and sociological frameworks in relation to children, young people and adults.
Demonstrate an understanding of a range of restorative approaches and how they impact on intervention work with children, young people and adults across a range of settings.
Demonstrate an understanding of the theoretical underpinning and history of restorative practice.
Begin to identify how the theory of restorative practice can be translated into practice and how this links to current government thinking and policy.
