Restorative Practice and Domestic Abuse
The use of Restorative Practice for domestic abuse is a controversial subject. In this course we explore the concerns about its use and also the benefits, using real case examples. Over two days, we will look at the extra knowledge, skills and sometimes counterintuitive procedures needed to deliver Restorative Justice in domestic abuse cases safely.
We will share the safety building models we have developed drawing on best practices used by partner agencies working in the domestic abuse field. The ultimate aim will be to ensure Restorative Justice is inclusive, accessible and safe, fitting with the Code of Practice for Victims requirement for all victim has to be given the opportunity to explore Restorative Justice..
