Level 5 RA: Theory and Practice Programme Module 1(Refresher route)
The Restorative Approaches: Theory and Practice programme is an established and well respected course, which has been running since 2015. It is unique in its focus- combining the crucial elements of theory, practice and implementation- and aims to assist learners to become highly skilled practitioners, working to best practice standards, with a solid theoretical understanding that informs their restorative work in their community.
The course is credit rated at Level 5 by the University of Greenwich and was revised in 2020 to consist of two 30 credit modules to allow learners greater flexibility. Module 1 is focused on Theory and Implementation and course activities include:
- seminar on key theories that inform restorative practice
- -esearching and writing two 1500 word assignments in response to a given title
- seminar about how to implement and promote restorative practice -support and guidance with undertaking activities to promote RP in your setting and writing an implementation case study -regular online tutorials to support with coursework -learning in groups, sharing experience with individuals from a range of contexts
The Module 1 Refresher course has been specifically designed for participants who have already undertaken training in restorative facilitation ( a complete 3 or 4 day course) and are interested in taking their knowledge and skills to a higher level.
