Complexities of restorative justice in cases of sexual harm: learning from practice and research in the Thames Valley

Andrew Bates (Chartered and Registered Forensic Psychologist, The Probation Service), Helen Leney (Senior Restorative Justice Practitioner, Thames Valley Restorative Justice Service), and Dr Diana Batchelor (Postdoctoral Researcher, University of Oxford) will be speaking on theory, practice and research drawing on their experiences of restorative justice in cases of sexual harm in the Thames Valley.

Some of the topics covered will include:

  • Discussion of issues that arise in the use of restorative justice in cases of sexual harm
  • Case discussion of two cases including practice, issues, and outcomes
  • Presentation of research and working model of victim engagement

We also hope to leave a generous amount of time for questions and further discussion.
