Restorative approaches for children's residential settings

This course will encourage all residential staff to think about their responses to challenging behaviour and conflict. It aims to strengthen their skills needed to build and sustain positive relationships by addressing conflict in a more positive way.

Do you sometimes struggle to respond positively to difficult behaviour when working with children and young people in care?

If you would like to learn a different, non-blaming, impact focused approach and ways to build better relationships then this is the course for you.

It will help you to:

  • Develop ways to work WITH people, rather than doing things TO or FOR them
  • Learn the foundations of restorative practice theory and how to apply it
  • Adopt restorative communication into your day to day practice
  • Respond to conflict and challenging behaviour in a positive way
